How do I input the apple verification code on my PC

What if I use two-factor authentication on a device running older software?

If you use two-factor authentication with devices running older OS versions, you might be asked to add your six-digit verification code to the end of your password when signing in. Get your verification code from a trusted device running iOS 9 and later or OS X El Capitan and later, or have it sent to your trusted phone number. Then type your password followed by the six-digit verification code directly into the password field.

After you get your verification code attempt to sign into your account in iTunes just as before. Enter your email address in the email field, and in the password field your password, immediately followed by the verification code. Exclude any spaces.

Thanks for this advice. I think you are on the right track. But I still don't know *where* to enter that password in iTunes running on a PC. There is no password prompt or ID verification code window coming up. Please advise.

Thanks, that did it! I didn't realize they wanted me to go back to the iTunes login/password window on the PC. Unlike on a mobile (Apple) device, the window did not pop up automatically.

It is covered in the quote I gave earlier, but it certainly isn't clear what you're supposed to do unless you already know.
