I cannot get my Time Capsule to connect to Internet through new modem

I have a A1470 Time Capsule 3TB and I am having problems getting to work with a new Technicolor cable modem TC8717T I received from Spectrum (formerly TimeWarner). The TC previously worked with the old modem. I know my internet connection is working as I worked with my ISP and confirmed it works and I also have my work PC online through an ethernet to the modem. So now when I connect the modem to my TC, Here are some syptoms:

- the TC has green light physically and in airport utility

- in the Airport Utility, Internet is orange and has a connection status of "disconnected"

- yet the internet works on the Ethernet connected PC

Some things I have tried that I have not helped:

- I had Spectrum on the phone but after doing some reboots they said it was not on their end since the PC was working

- I did my own reboots and factory resets of the TC and Modem and left them unplugged for 60 minutes

- I have searched through previous discussions and tried a few other things to no avail.

- I did have to put in DNS Servers from google 8.8.8.8 & 8.8.4.4 to get rid of the DNS Server error I had

Please help!

Power off the "modem" and leave it off for 15-20 minutes. Longer will not hurt

Disconnect the Ethernet cable from the modem to the Time Capsule

Open up AirPort Utility and click on the Time Capsule, then click Edit in the smaller window that appears

Click the Network tab at the top of the screen

Change the setting for Router Mode to read DHCP and NAT

If you want to continue to use the Google DNS servers on the Time Capsule under the Internet tab, you can leave that setting as is. Otherwise, if you don't want to use those servers.....and will use Spectrum's servers.......edit out the DNS Server boxes so that nothing appears there.

Click Update to save the settings and allow a full minute for the Time Capsule to restart to a slow, blinking amber light status.

Power off the Time Capsule

After the modem has been powered off for 15-20 minutes......longer will not hurt.....

Connect the Ethernet cable from Ethernet port #1 on the modem to the WAN "O" port on the Time Capsule

Power up the modem and let it run for 4-5 minutes

Then, power up the Time Capsule and let it run for a minute or two

Check to see if the Time Capsule has an Internet connection and that multiple devices can connect and get a good Internet connection.

Technicolor TC8717T is a modem/router or gateway according to the online guide for the product linked below.

https://www.timewarnercable.com/content/dam/residential/pdfs/support/internet/Mo demUserGuides/technicolor-tc8717t-usergu…

That would mean that it should be providing a 192.168.x.x private IP address to the Time Capsule.

Yet, the screenshots indicate that the TC81717T is providing a public IP address.....not a private IP address.

Can you clarify whether you, or Spectrum have changed the setup of the modem/router to have it operate as a simple bridge mode modem?

If it has been modified to act as a simple modem.....as it appears that it has been.....then the Router Mode setting in your screenshot for the Time Capsule is not correct.

I noticed that too. I did not change any of the modem settings. It is possible that Spectrum did as I spent nearly three hours on the phone with them and they we were trying all different things. The bottom of the modem includes the standard 192.168.0.1 address but I just tried to get on there on the connected PC and it would not. Thoughts?
