The touchpad on my macbook pro 15-inch (early 2011) has popped out of place, did some research and I guess I need to change the battery! Any recommendations on which battery is best to replace the original please?

I believe so, but you only need a small Phillips head driver. OWC provides the battery, tools, and instructions. I've replaced three batteries from them last summer: An Early-2011 13" MBP, a 17" Mid-2009 MBP, a Mid-2009 15" MBP, and a Late-2010 11" MBA. Easy to do and all worked well.
