What is the frame of the leather case made out of?

Do anyone know what type of materials are used in the apple leather case? It feels like plastic, but what type of plastics? Tried searching everywhere, but couldnt find anything about it.

This is for my environmental study.

Thanks,

hinsonnn,

Hmm, the entire case seems to be mostly leather. It does not really have a frame. However, it is possible that the very front of the case that fits over the front of the phone could be re-enforced with some sort of non-leather product. I can't tell for sure.

Also note that the portion of the case that fits over the side buttons is composed of some sort of metallic material.

Overall, the case is very well made and seems to be at least 99% leather 🙂

Let us know if this helps.

Read here:

These Apple-designed cases fit snugly over the curves of your iPhone without adding bulk. They’re made from specially tanned and finished European leather, so the outside feels soft to the touch and develops a natural patina over time. On the inside, a microfiber lining helps protect your iPhone. And the machined aluminum buttons match the finish of your iPhone case.
