How can I get help about updating a mac that no longer has support

I have a fairly old mac in excellent condition but no longer syncs with my iphone and I cannot get icloud facility or update to any newer browser. I tried to get Apple to give advice but they no longer support this. Is it possible to upgrade this to anyn degree?

iMac, iOS 10.1

A Mac cannot run iOS which is only for iDevices.

Do you mean OS 10.1? That is much too old to work with iCloud or even an iPhone.

Please clarify exactly what Mac your using and what operating system it is running.

As I noted in original query ( obviously not passed on) it is IOS 10.1
