iPhone 7 plus with Sennheiser MM30i earphones.
Hi,
I've been using my Sennheiser earphones through the adapter for a couple of months and worked very well. Today whilst out and about there is now v loud distortion, not controllable by the volume and music and phone calls are barely audible.
Has anyone had this problem and suggestions to rectify it?

Does this happen only with these headphones, or with others as well? If only with these headphones, then there might be something wrong with your headphones. If it happens with other headphones also then there might be something wrong with your adapter. In that case, you should make a genius bar reservation and if they can replicate the behavior you're experiencing, then they can replace your adapter in the store as the limited warranty also extends coverage to the included accessories that came with your phone.

It happens with a couple of sets of earphones both with my phone and using the earphones with the adapter in my iPad. I've chatted with Apple and they are sending me a replacement adapter and I'm returning mine, so it will get sorted.
