Does anyone have a recommendation for a $20-$40 app for OS X for creating invoices with the ability to customize the invoice template? I don't need time tracking but if it's included, fine.
QuickBooks is overkill for me, and too expensive.

Since you can generate customizable invoices (as shown in the screen shot), save invoices, share invoices, and do calculations and reports based on accumulated data from multiple invoices, in an app like Numbers or Excel, what other features where you looking for?

An invoicing app integrates with your Contacts. An invoicing app keeps a log of all invoices submitted so you can mark them as they are paid and then it lists all outstanding invoices. It keeps track of clients and lists invoices per client. It keeps track of projects and lists invoices per project.
Look, I appreciate your effort, but you really need to look at what people are asking and if you don't have info relating to what they are asking, you shouldn't waste their time replying and then having them explain themselves.
I know about spreadsheet apps. I've used them for decades. I asked about invoicing/billing apps.
I know Final Cut Pro X is not a billing/invoice support forum, I just figured there were a lot of freelancers here who have experience with an app for the Mac for invoicing/billing.
If anyone has experience with an app like that, please feel free to promote it.

Hit the app store, download the trials, examine the reviews, make a list of the prospects and do your research.
Quickbooks is the item that comes up here most often because of its total utility, all things professional video people usually need including the effortless data dump to Turbotax or to one's accountant's software.
For simple/cheap/customizable it's hard to beat a spread sheet, look at Apple's Numbers.app:

I hit the app store and found dozens of freebies and cheapie for iPhone, iPad, and Mac. Takes your pick.
