How do I refresh iTunes album art?

Hi,

Every now and then, my iTunes (v. 12.5.5.5) stops showing most (never all) of my album artwork.

For every album, I've downloaded artwork from Google and manually dropped it in the Artwork panel in "Get Info". When iTunes all of a sudden fails to show the artwork of my albums, the only way to get it back is to go to each album individually, select the first song, go to "Get Info", click on "Artwork" (it's there, it's never missing) and then just press Enter. Fixed.

But this is tedious and time consuming.

I've tried Doug's AppleScripts for iTunes and some other scripts, but none seem to make any change.

Does anyone have a solution for this problem, preferably an automated one?

Thanks,

Alexander

Backup your entire iTunes folder.

Embed any non-embedded artwork. Probably http://dougscripts.com/itunes/scripts/ss.php?sp=trackswithoutembedded and https://dougscripts.com/itunes/pdf/embedart.pdf will be useful.

Delete the Album Artwork folder inside your iTunes folder.

Scroll through the library slowly in the Albums view.

Assuming all is well, update your backup.
