My USB microscope isn't recognized by image capture or photo booth

Not sure if this is the best community to use, but I had to pick one.

I have an Intel Play QX3 USB microscope which used to work with built-in software but isn't being recognized anymore by ImageCapture or PhotoBooth. It worked under Snow Leopard, but not now under El Cap. There are a few 3rd party apps that are supposed to work, but so far no luck. Does anyone have any wisdom for how to find an app or configuration that will help me? I realize this is an old "toy" but it's pretty cool and I'd love have my kids start using it again on my Macbook Air (and I'd like to be able to view my turntable cartridge needles at 200x too!). thanks

Probably not but that is a question for the USB Microscope tech support and has nothing to do with the Mac - as your OS gets upgrades the third party software has to keep up with the changes and that is theri responsibility

Thanks, and I understand what you are saying, LN. But what I posted was that it worked with the APPLE built-in software (PhotoBooth and ImageCapture) and my question was about that, not 3rd party software. This unit I was mostly hopeful someone has had experience with how to configure the computer under El Capitan to work with this old microscope. Anyone? Or alternatively, anyone have knowledge of a program that might work (and not be more expensive the purchasing a whole new scope)? I'm beginning to think I may need to get something new, though I'd rather not.

Again this is a question for the microscope manufacturer - unless they offer a software/firmware upgrade for their device to meed El Captain standards you will not be able to use it - You can not change the El Captain requirements

And even if you could no one could give you the answer unless you provide all the details about the microscope interface
