Need to buy a DVI to VGA for mac mini 2005

Seems there actually are subtle differences, to include the count of USB ports,
(two on Late 2005 G4; four on earlier Intel-mac, five on later intel (white); plus
the FireWire port. The configuration of ports on the back can tell you something.
By the image you posted, the Mini you have could be as new as 2007, + Intel.
The unit is not a Late 2005 G4 PPC Mini; I have and am using one at this time.
And could have used one of two adapters, sometimes 2 included with Mini.
(DVI and VGA) but these spec pages do not show original part numbers.
So the display port could be different than expected. A similar adapter to attach
an external display may have been available for the early PMG5 or MacPro tower.
{Some use a mini-VGA, then mini-display port, then a mini-DVI toward modern era.
The iMac G4/G5/early intel series use 'mini sized display ports' some shared adapters
with G4 vintage iBook and PowerBook; later other Intel MacBook and MacBook/Pro.}
If you have a long-standing Apple Authorized Service provider who has been around
a long time, they may have some old-stock or accessories that were included with
a trade; or new-old-stock adapters. They may or should be able to help locate this.
Because there were subtle differences in fringe models, this can be very much tedium.
I've spent some time looking at ebay and amazon, and other Apple authorized sites
of older stuff, images; everymac.com and various archived Apple specs; to not find
a visual clue of detailed variant possibilities of the early DVI port, plug and adapters.
Given a source of older or diverse inventory, someone with an exacting database
may find the correct adapter; or a generic that could work, at an affordable price.
Perhaps talk to a qualified repair shop, such as wegenermedia or powermax, etc.
Good luck in this matter! 🙂
Thank you but none of these are the right one. They all have the "slit post" and not the 4 pins.
I need the 4 pins, not the flat slit looking piece. I've been searching all those places you gave me and more. They all seem to either be female or have that flat piece (which is far too thick to fit into the tiny cross slot in my female port). I found one that was right, on ebay, but it already sold.
Im sorry but please don't tell me what I know is "wrong." That's rude. I appreciate help but I know what I have and what I had. The amount of pins and the "flat bar" to the side of the pins (or not as in my case) depends on the type of monitor that works with my unit. The "flat bar" is the wrong connector for my unit. And it wouldn't matter if my pins were bent or not as the "flat bar" is too thick. The "cross between the 4 holes to the side of where the main pins go is nearly paper thin.
The adapter would be the same kind of plug end the early Aluminum 20-inch DVI Apple Cinema
display has attached to the factory cord. I had to get an adapter to use this with a Late 2012 Mini
Mac; but the same display works direct without adapter on Late 2005 Mini Mac 1.5GHz PPC G4.
Since my Macs are both setup in difficult to reach locations, where both have the wires in a mess
behind them (and cannot stand behind them) with both on or asleep, to disconnect & look now is
almost impossible.
The original cable ends would be similar to an obsolete adapter (end appropriate to 2005 Mac Mini)
and all of this part number have same 'flat horizontal' pin that goes into thin space. I've old Samsung
display that could use either DVI or VGA and it was equipped with the DVI end to attach to Mac Mini
2005 video port by use of two extended plastic-head finger tight screws. My Samsung presently is
attached to the Late 2005 G4 1.5GHz Mini via DVD end cable; it same end as early aluminum Apple
20-inch cinema display plug. (A secondary adapter needed w/ Late 2012 Mac Mini: DVI to mini-DVI.)
Due to the locations of my two Mac Mini examples, without totally removing them from all wires
and connections, I cannot view the display cable ends. I do know some of the similar looking
adapters had different number count of pins &/or flat-connectors, for specific vintage displays.
Sorry to not be more helpful; both of my Macs use a display with the same plug; and one has an
cable by a third party between Samsung 19-inch rotation display and 2005 Mini Mac; it just fits.
If yours is an early Intel-based Mac Mini, the display port could be different.
Good luck & happy trails! 🙂
The earliest Mac Mini used a DVI port and adapter, these morphed along
with other details in configuration specifications. By the time Intel GMA
graphics were introduced, the display adapters did also. A few of these
could work with other Mac models, oftentimes not.
Some display adapters look close ~ but no cigar...
No light or power at the end of the conductive tunnel.

You may have to selectively look to archives where the proper
part number for those as-shipped original adapters appears.
A few service source repair guides may list original accessories
by part number -- official PDF documentation did on occasion.
In the day, 'parts identification' by serial number was possible.
Good luck & happy trails! 🙂
This is the one that was included on my 2005 Minis...
Need to buy a DVI to VGA for mac mini 2005
The picture you posted is not of a 2005 Mac Mini. It's an Early 2006, Late 2006, or a Mid 2007.
So, first you need to properly identify your Mac Mini.
