Siri Volume with Airpods

Just got my new AirPods today. I decided to first test them out while watching a movie on Netflix (on my iPhone 7). I then decided to utilize Siri with the “Hey Siri” command.

The result was that I nearly ripped the AirPods out of my ears. Siri’s volume was about 3 times that of what I found comfortable while watching movie on Netflix.

What gives?

Why is the volume different for Siri and the volume control I have utilized with the Control Center?

Hi

To adjust the volume for Siri, use the volume buttons on your iPhone whilst you are interacting with Siri.

For example: press and hold down the Home button on your iPhone until Siri starts listening > adjust the volume as desired > press the Home button when done.
