What is my iCloud passcode?

I got this problem too and it is asking for the code you use to unlock your phone!

At least that is what worked for me, just use the 4 digit code for your phone unlock.

I did get REALLY annoyed with all of those clever people who were telling you how to put in a six digit verification code as they simply didn't seem to have read your message (or maybe did not understand it).

For iOS versions that used a 4 digit passcode for the device itself, that's what Apple is asking for, per one of the posts above. Using the device passcode worked for me. The request that came up on the screen from iCloud led many of us to believe it was asking for a separate iCloud Passcode, which is what confused myself and others. Thank You!!

On your iPhone, go to Settings → iCloud → Keychain and switch Keychain off then on again.

Tap "Approve with Security Code", tap "Forgot Code" and then tap "Reset".

Follow the instructions to reset iCloud keychain and create a new passcode.

Yes. I did read the article you linked, but it doesn't apply to my case. Follows the instructions listed on your link and why they don't work for me:

Option 1: Use the code displayed on your trusted device

Doesn't work because specifically for the iPhone nothing is shown on my trusted device (Mac OsX).

Option 2: Get a text or phone call

This option relies on my clicking on 'Click Didn't get a verification code on the sign in screen.' There is no such option. The screen I get is: 'Enter Passcode. Your passcode will be used to confirm you identity when signing in to iCloud on a new device'. And all it allows me to do is to input a 6-digit passcode. There's no such option as 'didn't get a verification code'.

Option 3: Get a code from Settings on your trusted device

This option generates a 6-digit code for me to input on my iPhone, but when input it there it says it's an invalid passcode....

I guess there's something borked in my iPhone/iCloud account. I will try to reset the phone completely and reinstall it from scratch....

I tried my 6-digit verification code exactly as the OP had tried but to no avail as well.

After a few weeks the issue eventually solved itself (meaning the message disappeared). I'm not too sure if it's fully working because I generally get the authorisation screens on either my MacBook Pro or the MacBook Air but rarely if ever on the iPhone. But since I always have access to either the MacBook Pro or the MacBook air, it is not bothering me any longer.

Go figure... must be some glitch/bug in the iCloud added security features...

Did you read the article I posted a link to in my last post? It tells you how to generate a code.

In this situation I think you use Two Factor Authentication. I recommended in appleid.com sign-in using your account and disable it. After that restart iPhone and try sign-in again. Should work.

Oh yeah, and cannot login to icloud with an android.

That is anti-competitive.

It is the two step verification.

Go to iCloud> Click on your name> Password& Security> Press get verification code.

It will send your phone a pop up for a verification to allow the device & then press allow & then the next pop up will come up with the code!

I actually came here for help & your things didn't help so I kept messing around in iCloud settings.

I have enabled two-factor authentication already. And what happens when I try to login to my Apple account from a different device (say a webbrowser on a Windows machine), it shows an authorization screen on my Mac OSX that I can allow the access and if allow it is gives me a 6-digit passcode.

With the iPhone though it just asks for the Passcode but no authorization message appears for me on Mac OSX.

Sorry, but this is BS, Apple are the worst at security. Sick and tired of jumping through hoops because they think they know security.

While updating OSX to Siera, my Mac asked me if I wanted to turn on Two-Factor for NEW device logins, stupidly I said yes.

I added my phone# and they sent me an sms.

I stupidly thought "Great"

But wait "iCloud"

Enter my PASSWORD.

GOOD?

NOPE, it wants my icloud PASSCODE.

I DON'T HAVE ONE.

other option login to trusted device.

Guess what I only Run Mac, so I am F'd.

Now I have to get someone else's device setup with my icloud, which ironically is a new device and will also require a passcode.
