Battery service Macbook Pro Mid 2012
MacBook Pro, macOS Sierra (10.12.3)
Service Battery: The battery isn’t functioning normally. You can safely use your Mac when it's connected to an appropriate power adapter, but you should take it to an Apple Store or Apple-authorized service provider as soon as possible. From About Mac notebook batteries - Apple Support
If you are a bit technical, you might consider replacing it yourself:
You can try resetting the SMC (Reset the System Management Controller (SMC) on your Mac - Apple Support) but I don't think it will help, the 'maximum' cycle count for your model is 1000 (Determining battery cycle count for Mac notebooks - Apple Support) and your screenshot shows 838 so it's near 'end of life'. You can continue using it as mentioned in the support article. A battery is a chemical product and some 'old' batteries can expand, the battery is underneath the trackpad, you can notice if the battery is expanding. 'clicking' the trackpad will be more difficult, if you notice that behaviour you should be careful not to wait to long with replacing the battery.
If you can't replace it yourself, is there someone around you who can do it for you?
Does it mean I have to replace my battery? I am not able to take my computer to an Apple Shop because I live in Albanian which doesn't have a Apple shop and the Tech Shops aren't pros at Mac computers because Macs aren't very popular here.
I have the same MBP mid-2012
My Cycle count is up to 1603
At 1000 Cycles you should replace.
I plan on replacing my battery soon. I just have not gotten around to it.
MBP is still charging and operating fine.
I would be care full and not get a 3rd party battery because it might not work fine.
Only buy from OWC.com

I plan on buying this one ( Anker battery ). Which comes with all the tools you need to do it yourself.

Hello! Thanks for your help! Is the battery certificated because there is a price difference between 2 batteries
https://www.amazon.com/Anker-Replacement-Battery-MacBook-6000mAh/dp/B00D780NNQ/r ef=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1487963982&sr=8-1& and https://eshop.macsales.com/item/NewerTech/BAP13MBU65V/
Anker and NewerTech are both decent batteries. If I'm right then the difference is capacity, the NewerTech is 6500mAh and Anker is 6000mAh. Depends what you mean about certificated, Apple don't want we replace batteries ourself so its not certificated by Apple.
It doesn't have side effects, as apple stated "You can safely use your Mac when it's connected to an appropriate power adapter"
If I wait a little longer and I don't notice the battery expanding does it have any side effect to the computer?
And btw thanks for your help!
I have used both NewerTech and Anker batteries, the Ankers have consistently had a higher capacity than they advertise, the NewerTech's are usually right on the spec, but they are both good.
Thank you very much!
Thank you for your help!
You're welcome
