Charger isn't working

I haven't experienced any problems with my charger for my macbook air since I got it last year, but today my charger stopped working out the blue. Apart from that it also smells burned, what do I do? The magnetic thing that attaches to the opening on the mac smells burned and the opening of the computer as well, what does this mean? Apple Macbook chargers are so expensive T-T

Suggestion - if you smell something burning in your charger, I suggest you stop using it before you damage your MacBook Air.

Take it to Apple or an Apple Authorized Service Center and have both the charger and your MacBook Air looked after before you end up with a fried MacBook Air.

You might need a new charger which is not as expensive as getting a new MacBook Air if you continue to use the charger.

Good luck - hopefully it's just a defective charger.
