Can I link my Game Center account to another Apple id?

I just got a new iPhone and I'm not quite sure how to do this. My old phone has another Apple ID. I created a new one on this new phone and want to unlink the Game Center account from that old ID and use it with this new one. Basically I want to separate the apple id from the game center account. Is this possible?
