I currently have a old UK sim in my iPhone 6S and my new SA sim in my old iPhone 5. I would like to be able to completely swap them over. Can I simply just back up each one onto iCloud and then wipe both phones to factory settings and reload each one individually? Or will each backup wipe the other?

I know how to do the physical transfer; but what I want to know is are the backups from each phone saved separately or classified as one as they are both linked to the same apple account?
