Apple Pencil and PDF Reader - Comments

Hello Everyone!

My name is Dr. Mubashar. I am a resident in Radiology in LGH in Pakistan. I recently bought an iPad pro 9.7” with apple pencil. My primary purpose is to study medical books. I am looking for help for a small problem.

Which is:

All of the books that I study are PDFs. I installed two pdf reader softwares. One is Adobe and other is Foxit. I always use Foxit because of following reason:

As I study, I use COMMENT tool most of the times. I do not use Highlight/Underline tool. I adobe, there is comment tool but it draws a significant thick line which by the way remains constant (i.e. you cannot change its point size/thickness) compared to Foxit in which you can change the thickness from pt 1 to pt 12. Plus an additional feature of Opacity. These two features are not available in adobe reader.

Having said that: I also use built in apple app named NOTES. I use this write key notes. In this the marker writes excellently sharp, thin. The thickness is I think is below one the size of pt 1. My guess is its size would be 0.25 pt. Also in Foxit, you cannot write even with apple pencil as smoothly and beautifully as you would in I the NOTES app.

Dear Fellows!!! I know this is because of the application features that developers added. My question is, is there any app, pdf reader out there that allows the drawing, handwriting and commenting just like if u r using NOTES app in the iPAD pro with apple pencil. IS THERE ANY PDF READER APP OUT THERE???User uploaded fileUser uploaded file

Dr. Mubashar,

I use Notability. I know you can import files into it. It is not so much a reader as it is a note taking application. But I will say the Apple pencil works great in it. The writing ability is just as if you were writing on a normal piece of paper. You have the options of changing the size of font and using different fonts as well. It also has a highlighter function. I do not know if there is a Opacity feature on it. Maybe this will help.
