TRYING TO GET PAST ACTIVATION LOCK AND DO NOT HAVE FORMER OWNERS APPLE ID INFO. ANY IDEAS?

I'm sorry, but in this situation there is nothing you can do. Only the previous owner can unlock it. Apple cannot unlock it for you, and neither can web sites claiming to do so for a fee - these are scams. You will never be able to use the phone: you should return it to wherever you bought it and demand a refund as it's useless.

Hello! I had a very similar situation, in that my IPhone6SPlus was locked with an Activation Lock (which was someone else's AppleID & password AND the person was not compliant with my requests for the info needed!)

answers you've received thus far, from my experience, appear to be straight on accurate. Given that the previous owner is not forthcoming with the info you need, well, that's not a good thing. It IS BEYOND FRUSTRATING when others will not take the time to do something fairly easy (removing their ID from the phone.) My passion for inconsiderate people is something I'd write pages on, and my answer here is plenty long so I'll spare that dissertation! Truly, tho, I'm saddened you are in this predicament!

Moving on, I also found it to be true that there are websites claiming they will be able to take the Activation Lock off of an IPhone as long as you are able to provide them with the phone's IEMI number and pay their service fee. Well, if someone is at a loss without the information needed to rightfully & properly unlock this Activation Lock, it's easy to understand why one would jump at that chance with one of these websites (I did without success and am now without the funds I used to pay for the service - my mistake - my disappointment- my lesson....and I take ownership of that poor decision.)

Since that time, I've been told that there are "legitimate" companies that will do this type of unlock for you. I guess the keyword is "legitimate." Perhaps this type of information can be found on a trusted blog or perhaps trusted posted tech reviews.... I've no idea honestly.

My situation resolve came by having the Activation Lock removed after working with Apple...yeah! And this happened by providing them with the information they needed, which if you call the Apple Support line, they will be very clear as to the required information. They basically need to be able trace the phone back through its receipt/receipts of sale and other various documentation. It was time consuming and very exhaustive on my part to gather the needed information. However, with perseverance in gathering what Apple needed to help my situation, and with a further lengthy conversation with Apple, I'm sitting here now with my unlocked (from the Activation Code) IPhone6SPlus, and it was worth going the distance to find the info required, as in turn, Apple definitely then took the time to go the distance for my cause.... and my phone is now up and running and not attached to any AppleID other than my own!

I know this was a long answer! It's truly a pain to have this challenge, and therefore, probably why there is not a quick fix! Good Luck!

There is nothing to do. Either return the phone to the seller, or use it as a paperweight.
