Cannot use app store as password won't go in

I can sign into my Apple ID account, but if I attempt to use it for the App store, I get "have you forgotten your password?" "Do you want to reset your password?" or blah blah balh. No. password is fine. Just doesn't work when trying to sign into the App store on the computer. Since it appears I am the only person in the world that has had this issue, I'm asking this as a new question. I attempted various ways of asking the question and get thousands of returns or "nothing" but nothing yields an answer.

I apologize for the late reply and not being more specific about the Two-factor Authentication process. I hope this article will help: http://osxdaily.com/2016/08/17/disable-two-factor-authentication-apple-id/

You need to turn this on/off on the Apple ID site: appleid.apple.com

Ever since I turned it off and updated to macOS Sierra, I haven't had an issue signing into App Store or iTunes. Hope this helps solve your issue. 🙂

I reset password. That was the first thing I did, two days ago.
I reset the PRAM (Apple CSR suggestion).

I deleted iCloud from the computer.
I deleted iCloud from the iPad.

I put it back on the computer.

I put it back on the iPad.

I sent a verification from the iPad to the computer.

Twice.

I created a new ID.
I reset that password.
I went back to the old Apple ID.

I deleted the appstore com. folders.

Nothing.

Oh, and this doesn't work in SAFE MODE either.

I created a new user, and that goes to the AppStore, no problem.
I have another user on the computer, changed that to ADMIN and it also will launch AppStore, No problem.

I can switch to either USER B or USER C at anytime, including still being logged on with USER A, and the AppStore will launch. If I attempt to go to the AppStore with USER A I get, "There is a problem signing on to the server."

So, though "wouldn't hurt to reset the password" is equivalent to "is it plugged in" I still cannot access the AppStore from this particular USER (which is the main Admin user). But, other than reformatting the entire hard drive in order to use the AppStore, any other suggestions I'll consider. Thank you for your interest. I will definitely share the solution if there ever is one. :-)

I have been experiencing this also and finally figured out why it didn't work for me. I had to turn off the Two-factor authentication in my Apple ID security settings and use the security questions and recovery email option instead. I have a Mac mini (late 2012) and was trying to update to macOS Sierra from OSX 10. Maybe OSX 10 couldn't properly handle the two-factor authentication for App Store. I also encountered the problem with iTunes and iCloud. Now that my password finally works, I'm updating to Sierra. We'll see how it goes! Hope this helps your issue!

This sounds like something that could be of use, except I have no idea where the two-step verification would live in order to see whether it's set. And I can log on with other Users, but not the home user. I will go to settings>security and see if there's anything jumping out at me. Would be amazing if this were the case as there have been three APPLE CSRs on this over a month and still no luck.
