Setup iCloud mail on it.
Setup iCloud mail on it.
I've been using K-9 email program on my Android for years, mainly because I prefer POP.
It handles iCloud very well, even allowing you to NOT sync deletions to the server so you can still download them to your Mini when you get it back.
Good support article: Mail server settings for iCloud email clients - Apple Support
Note the difference in the Username between the incoming mail server and the SMTP server - this actually does make a difference.
Also, I don't know if it will support the iCloud 2 step verification system. So far, I haven't had to install that.
Hope you have solved this problem by now.
I DO NOT have 2 step authorization on my account, but my iCloud email is also not working as of this morning (June 18, 2017). Either there is a temporary problem with the server (I've gotten this error before), or once again: Apple LIED. Everything I've read up to now has said that app specific passwords would only be required for 2SA, but I don't have 2SA, and iCloud mail isn't working on my Android.
Considering my calendar still syncs, it is probably a mail server error.
2 articles I found that have good step by step instructions.

I'm still trying to decide whether it is worth messing up my Apple life going to 2SA. At this point, probably not.
Hi,
there is good guide how to set up iCloud.com mail on android:
http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/need-to-access-icloud-on-your-android-we-can-help/
Please bear in mind specific app password: if you have 2 step verification, specific app password should be generated at apple website under apple id section management
Have you had any luck? I can't access my email either, as of a few days ago. I can't set up my 2-step Auth because I don't have another apple device and I see nowhere on my settings where I can set up app-specific passwords. I've tried everything.
No luck. Calendar is still working, but iCloud mail is not. Lucky for me, I don't really use iCloud mail so I can drop it from my Droid.
In your case, I'd head for the genius bar @ an Apple store and have them set it up for you. They should be able to do it even if your device is down.
Coach:
Another temporary solution if you have access to ANY Apple computer with an internet connection. Open Safari (if the computer is running something newer than 10.10) or Chrome (any version past 49) and go to www.icloud.com.
You can even do this in an Apple store. I do it at work using a 2009 iMac running Snow Leopard & Chrome 49. You may be able to do this on a PC (I think I've done it before). You just can't do it on your Android phone.
You should be able to log in, and open your mail there.
From there, look for the little gear - on mine it is at the bottom of the folder list on the left panel.
Choose Preferences
Choose General Tab
About half way down is "Forwarding". Forward it all to your gmail address.
It's a nuisance, but you can set up a rule in gmail to put anything from icloud into a separate inbox.
That's going to be my work-around for now.
Best of luck
You need to enable 2 Factor Authentication on your Apple ID and create an app specific password to use.
Apple ID -Two-factor authentication
No longer working. Blocked by 2 step authorization requirement
If you don't want to, don't.
