Graphics cards are not a user replacement option in Apple MacBook Pro models. You start by looking at the requirements for your CAD software package — if it is compatible with the release of OS X/macOS that you have installed, and the specific graphics hardware that it recommends/supports. You may find that you need a newer MacBook Pro to meet the minimum system and graphics requirements for that CAD software, and potentially, a newer release of that CAD software as well.
