The grey anodised surface on my 2017 new Macbook Pro in Space Gray finish has started to degrade after only 6 weeks of use! Is this being noticed as a known problem. This is my third 'top of the range' Macbook Pro in 4 years, but I have never had this surface degradation problem before. The areas of surface erosion is in the corners where my palms touch.

Some users have a body chemistry that has an adverse effect on the anodized aluminum surface. You may be one of those individuals.

I would not use those adjectives, but yes, I suspect that your body chemistry is the cause of the problem (since I must assume that you are the principal user if not the only one).

OK, but it hasn't happened on my last two Macbook Pros, so the coating must have changed. I will see what they say when I take it in for assessment, which I cannot do right now as I am on an island!
The Macbook Pro 2017 hasn't even been around for 6 weeks. Did you mean 2016?
