Any way to turn watch screen off?

I was at the movies while wearing my Apple Watch, and realized while eating my popcorn that my watch kept lighting up. I couldn't get it to stop lighting up and wound up taking it off. So, my question is: is there a movie mode or something like that on the watch?

The latest version of watchOS adds a Theatre Mode for Apple Watch.

When enabled, this prevents the display from waking when you raise your wrist and also turns on Silent Mode (haptic notifications are still delivered).

The mode can be toggled on and off via Control Centre (when viewing the time, swipe up on the screen to open Control Centre).

Hi

There is not currently a movie mode-type setting for Apple Watch.

You may wish to consider turning off Wake Screen on Wrist Raise when you are at the movies:

On your iPhone, in the Watch app, go to: My Watch (tab) > General > Wake Screen > turn off Wake Screen on Wrist Raise.

Options for silencing alerts include Silent Mode and Do Not Disturb mode:
