I have a "Carista" Bluetooth obd2 device but it is not included in the "known Bluetooth devices" view when it's not connected.
Also When the it IS connected the device does not have the icon that let's you forget the device for repairing
Is this a problem? is this common for OBD2 BT devices or a problem with the device / implementation of Carista ?

The adapter uses Bluetooth Low Energy (LE), which is different from the regular Bluetooth connection that all your other devices use. Bluetooth LE devices don't show up in the Bluetooth list.
Is that related ?
is there a way to make it appear in the list and act like other BT devices if they wanted ?
Hello,
For iOS devices you need to buy a OBD2 device with WiFi Interface. That way you can connect without having to deal with compatibility.
Alteast that device worked for me.(the WiFi one)

I had one of those elm327... didn't feel right
I don't remember what it was - stuff in the iPhone trying to access the net / not delivering mail and messages
Or the app (Dash) not supporting it...
I don't see why it's not something they can work around and resolve...
