is 512 gb enough storage?

hi, i'm a college student. I'm looking for a computer for everyday use. I'm interested in getting the MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Early 2015) model. I don't know if 512gb is enough storage for everyday use. I have a Acer Windows laptop computer and its way to heavy for me to carry around school etc. so i was wanting to get a MacBook instead. i have about 1,117 songs on my computer. and my computer is 465 gb computer. i have only used about 65.9 gb out of the whole thing. my itunes song storage is about 1169 songs in my itunes library. I'm always adding new music also. anyways, i just want to make sure that whatever storage im getting, i want to make sure its enough to store my pictures, music, writing, and class work. thank you. oh, and i want to make sure i have enough thunderbolt ports. i have about 3 thunderbolts on my computer. thank you all so much for reading.

There's so many ways to approach this and it really comes down to individual preferences. I find my 1TB drive about adequate. My wife barely uses 60 GB on her computer (and that's the entire drive for everything).

Digital media is greedy for space, particularly video. That said, my opinion is I don't need everything on may computer all the time. I have several archive drives, all backed up with duplicate drives, for things I don't need to see everyday. Apple is using iCloud to offer similar services though it isn't exactly identical to an archive drive (and should not be considered a backup). So I'd say if you can take this approach then your drive is probably more than enough unless you get to having 50,000 music files and spend all day doing video editing.
