Can't get Epson WF-4630 to connect to wi-fi, 5ghz issue

We just bought a new printer yesterday and my iMac and Macbook Pro can't find the Epson WF-4630 printer unless I restart the printer. When installing printer drivers, got the message that the printer was incompatible with 5ghz wi-fi. We have tried redownloading software several times but still can't get it to work. We downloaded the apple software suggested from the Epson website, but still no joy. We have been hesitant to upgrade to Sierra as many users have complained about wi-fi issues with that also. Should we upgrade or any other suggestions?

MacBook Pro with Retina display, OS X Yosemite (10.10.5), 2.5 GHz Intel Core i7

Hi there buzz100,

It sounds like your computer is unable to stay connected to your Wi-Fi enabled printer reliably and you have to restart it to get it to work. We would recommend the troubleshooting in the following article to help you troubleshoot that:

Resolve printer issues on your Mac

The section titled "If your Mac has some other issue with your printer or scanner" in particular. We thank you for using the Apple Support Communities, let us know how that goes!
