how do I get imovie 06 HD on 10.12?

Hi. I need to edit some video. iMovie used to be so easy to use and the current version is horrible. Is there some way to download or buy iMovie 06 HD and run it on 10.12? (Why did they ruin it and make it so hard to use?)

If this is not possible please recommend something else. I just need something simple to cut up and join some clips (even this is extremely difficult in the current version), maybe slowmo/speedup sections, and add music.

No idea if this will work with Sierra, but it can't hurt to try:

Change 6.0.4 to any other (higher) number. I changed it to 6.0.5 and it worked fine. You might change it to something higher than that in case Apple decides to disallow other 6.x.x numbers in the future. 10 (the current iMovie major version number, no .x.x needed) also worked just fine.
Save the plist file in TextEdit

If you literally only want to cut and join clips and not add titles or transitions etc. you can do this with Quicktime Player.

If you do download iMovie6, and it works on Sierra, would you write back and let the community know? I have been postponing upgrading to Sierra until I know the answer to that question.
