iTunes Lag Spike When Searching for an Artist.

Okay, so this is my problem... I have 2 DJ laptops. One is like 5-7 years old running Windows 7 and the other one is brand new running Windows 10. Old one is a CORE i5 and new one is a CORE i7. The old laptop is running an older version of iTunes and the new laptop is running version 12.5.5 ... I am have the same problem with both of them. I have notice that the problem started with my old laptop when I did something. That something was this. I went to FILE then LIBRARY and then CONSOLIDATE FILES. That's when the lag problem started. My lag happens when I am in search and I type in a Artist and say I am looking for music by DRAKE it will look like my screen is frozen and I can't click on anything for 30 seconds up to a minute. Same thing happens when I go to the left column and I click on the Artist tap it will do the same lag. As a DJ and when I use iTunes when I am not mixing I can't have this lag spike, it is killing me really bad. I can't be waiting up to a minute for searching for different artist every single time. Anyone have the same problem or knows how to fix this problem? I am pretty sure it is not the laptops, I am going with software.

Windows 10, null

Consolidating the library ought not to affect performance, unless you've caused a drive to run low on free space in the process.

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.

The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. When reinstalling right-click the downloaded setup file and use Run as administrator.

Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.

The further information area has direct links to the current and recent builds in case you have problems downloading, or want to revert to an older version if the current one won't work properly for you at the moment.

Your library and device backups should be unaffected by these steps but there are links to backup and recovery advice should it be needed.

Whats what created this whole mess with the lag. Making/Creating the Backup. After the backup was done it made my old laptop lag when only searching for an Artist. I though it was the laptop starting to crap the bed so I bought a new one. I download the newest version of iTunes and installed it like normal. Transferred my backup files to the new laptop and did the hold SHIFT and lunch iTunes and found the backup file and everything loaded really smooth but I am still having that lag. Do you think it might have anything to do with the album cover photos?
