Question

I moved the file: com.apple.WebKit.Networking

I moved the file com.apple.WebKit.Networking to the desktop while testing Safari in Sierra for Malware. However, I forgot to leave the folder open so that I could replace it back after testing. Now Safari will not open correctly.

Would someone here please search it in your Mac running Sierra Version 10.12.3 (16D32) and direct me to the right folder so that I can place the file back. Sorry for being such a dufus but I have been reinstalling and cleaning for 4 days.

Play it safe and download and run the macOS Sierra 10.12.3 Combo Update which will install the missing file along with all of the correct preferences and ownership.

First of all thanks but I think I know what I am doing! My question was about having someone direct me to the correct folder where the file belongs and not to be criticized by you. So if you don't mind in would be in the best interest to be supportive rather than criticize those whom you do not know. Now regarding my request, do you know what folder holds that specific file or is it that you..... 'do not know what you're doing.' I come here to learn from the best Apple Minds.

On 10.11.5 I find...

/System/Library/Frameworks/WebKit.framework/Versions/A/XPCServices/com.apple.Web Kit.Networking.xpc

And in that...

/System/Library/Frameworks/WebKit.framework/Versions/A/XPCServices/com.apple.Web Kit.Networking.xpc/Contents/MacOS/com.apple.WebKit.Networking

Then there is...

/System/Library/LaunchAgents/com.apple.WebKit.PluginAgent.plist

With all due respect it is clear you don't know what you are doing. Why do you think your system has malware on it?

Why haven't you simply restarted in the Recovery Partition and re-installed Mac OS?

All you need to do is restart in the Recovery Partition and install Mac OS and that will solve your problem. If you did know what you were doing you should have known that.
