i am using mac os sierra.
my mac freezes whenever i want to copy big files, freezes when i try to empty trash, also freezes when my game on steam update, when i try to download more game on steam also freezes, and also when i update app on app store.
it seems find when i download anything from browser i have read other discussion with similar problem but nothing works PLEASE HELP!!!...

thank you for giving your time to help me but as i've said i did search for the discussion of similar problem and that is one of the things i tried but still in safe mode when i tried to copy large files is still freezes.
oh and at first i thought it was my ram then it was 4gb but after i upgrade to 16gb it still the same so just want to note that.

i did the disk utility even before doing safe mode, several times actually.
well no more than safe mode and disk utility i tried reinstalling sierra but when reinstalling it won't progress saying 5 minutes remaining but the process bar still 0 progress.

I'm experiencing similar problems as Rosyid. Almost every time, when copying large files, my mac just freezes (sometimes i works, though). All I can do is to force the computer to restart.
I change my hard drive and hard drive cable quite recently, but I couldn't get that IR-sensor contact in place... Could that be it?

Are you using iCloud? Deleting large files or folders that are sync'd with iCloud require the "other" end to be deleted as well. What you might be seeing is the delay.
no i don't, but it's not delay, my laptop just suddenly not responding everything is not responding so i have to shut it down with power button.
So, could you make anything out of it?
