Apple TV only streaming audio from movie on my iPhone

When I stream movies from my iPhone I obviously slide the bar from my iPhone up and select "Apple TV" from the options for video output. Now all the sudden, I do that when streaming a movie from my phone and the movie continues to play on my phone and only the audio goes to my tv through Apple TV. Has this happened to anyone? I've restarted my iPhone and Apple TV multiple times. Did I select something on my iPhone that is causing airplay not to send the movie or what's going on? Please help, guys!

Hi,

Make sure your Apple TV is up to date >> Update the software on your Apple TV

Make sure your iPhone is up to date >> Update the iOS software on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

I'm using safari. But even if I go to Facebook or twitter for example, and select a video, the video plays on my phone and the audio plays on Apple TV. Instead of the video going to that gray "airplay" mode and streaming direct to Apple TV.

Not all apps are enabled for airplay, the developer can also choose to change this at any time. If there is a glitch it would be their responsibility to fix. If it was a native app then that would be different, which is why I asked.

Well, for example I just went to my videos in my phone, and selected a video I took at an event and play it then select Apple TV and again, only the audio goes to the tv and the video stays on my phone. The only way I can make a video play on the tv is by using mirroring.

Yes, they're both up to date. I checked earlier but I just checked again to be sure. It is still only sending the audio to Apple TV and not the video from my phone.
