mac mail 7.3 won't let me set up yahoo pop mail. gives me imap

I had a pop account with yahoo coming to my mac mail 7.3. I was having problems and decided to delete the account and reset it up. I want a pop account but it keeps giving me imap.

I go to mac mail, preferences, accounts, click plus sign at the bottom and then a window pops up. Choose a mail account add and then I click on yahoo. after I put in my email and password, it sets up an imap account. it says imap in the left column. the address is imap.something. I change the word imap to pop. It still remains an imap account. Says so on the left and behaves like one, but I did put in the pop address for yahoo. I don't see an option of how to make it a pop account. I would be soooo thankful if anyone could help me with this.🙂

I put in the correct password, held down option and clicked the continue/set up button. The next screen comes up automatically set up as imap. There is also an icon with the word imap in the left column. I changed the server address to the pop mail address on that link you sent me. Once I clicked on saving the changes, it automatically put the imap address where I had changed it to pop.

Thanks to everyone who tried to solve this for me. I asked yahoo and they are discontinuing pop mail. I really liked it as I could get a copy of my husbands email. He charges things on the credit card and forgets to tell me and I could keep up on things being shipped and so forth. Here's what they said:

I understand that you're unable to configure your Mac
mail with POP settings as it defaults to IMAP. I apologize
for the inconvenience and will surely address this for you.
If you're using POP (Post Office Protocol) import to
pull emails from another email account into Yahoo Mail, we
encourage you to connect your external account via IMAP
import. After March 31, 2017, we will no longer support POP
import on desktop, as we're retiring the legacy system
that supports this protocol. Any emails previously imported
into Yahoo Mail will remain. Then they went on to explain why imap was great. It probably is for one person with multiple devices. My husband doesn't want to get an new account. I was thinking he could do email with gmail. The only solution I see is to check his email daily and see if there is anything that he forgot to forward. Thanks again for your attempts to help me with this.
