what brand of ssd did apple originally put in their unibody macbook pros?

I was wondering what type of SSD Apple put in their unibody MacBook Pros at time of purchase when the option for an SSD was selected. In my experience, Samsung SSDs have always been the best so I was thinking that ever since the MacBook Air in early 2008 was released and Apple had the optional upgrade to a 64GB SSD (although this Mac was unique with its IDE connection) but then later in the 17" late 2008 pre-unibody MacBook Pro as well as the 15" unibody model had the optional upgrade by Apple and ever since then Apple had the option of an SSD in the MacBook Pro until 3rd generation models made an SSD standard.

It is important to understand that some of these "stick" form-factor SSD drives use new and unusual interfaces. These may not be the equivalent of off-the-shelf products.

Mac-friendy vendor 'Other World Computing' has developed compatible, supported aftermarket drives for many of these Macs, and they are eager to help you if you need a replacement. Customer support is an important part of their reputation as a Mac-friendly vendor.
