Hi, my ipad pro only charges when it is turned off, i have already checked all cables ect.
The ipad doesn't show the charging icon when i plug the charger in.
Please can you Help.

I have tried all sorts of different apple cables, also I have just pulled out a brand new cable and plug from my new iPhone 7 box to no avail.
I am wondering if there is a reset I can do?

Are you using an iPad charger and not an iPhone charger? Look on the charging block, in tiny hard to read print you can see the specs and you're looking or 10 or 12W
THe iPad shouldn't be charged via USB. Most USB ports simply do not put out enough power to keep the iPad happy....ie it trickles in power so slowly, if the screen is on, the ipad will not charge
If you are using an iPad brick, do you have a different cable to try?
A forced restart may help. Tap and hold the Home button and the On/Off buttons for approximately 15-20 seconds, until the Apple logo reappears. When the logo appears, release both buttons.
No content is affected by this procedure.
Also check for dust/debris in the charging port. Clean with a soft dry brush or toothpick if required.
My son's IPad just started doing this about a week ago. Have to turn it off to charge, no indication it is charging. We have already tried multiple cords and boxes, reset and re downloading the software from iTunes, still not working. Did you ever find out what the problem was?

I tried all the different things I read on here in regards to resets, etc....finally took it in and it was a hardware issue. Luckily it was less then a year and we got a new one for no cost!
