External Monitor Shifted Right

I have a 2007 Mac Pro hooked up to a Dell E2414H and when I have it set to the proper 1920x1080, 60Hz setting the screen shifts to the right 2-3in. There are no manual controls on the monitor and the screen won't auto adjust to the right center. Is there anyway I could get this screen to shift the correct direction?

the position controls should be available then, in On screen displays, according to the manual.

But why don't you hook this up using a DVI cable for a better picture? You have a DVI port at each end, all you need is a DVI cable.

what adapters or interfaces are you using to connect to this display?

The manual says there are some On-Screen Display settings.

I am using the VGA connector with a DVI to VGA adaptor to my ATI Radeon X1900 XT 512 MB graphics card.
