Logic Pro Licensing

Can someone explain how licensing for Logic Pro works? Meaning, if I purchase a single user license of Logic Pro, am I eligible for free upgrades/updates for a period of time (major or minor version updates)? Is it subscription based, where I can get free updates for X years after purchase? Are updates release via the App Store?

Mac Pro, iOS 10.2.1

If you get the Mac App Store version, you’ll get free updates to that product until and unless Apple puts out something it considers to be a different one. These will come through the Mac App Store.

If you get a DVD version, you’ll be able to install free updates to that version, but not any full version upgrades.
