mail signature no longer automatic

Hi - I have no idea why but my mail signature no longer appears automatically when I compose a new email. The signature is still there in my preferences and it appears to be selected for my outgoing email address the way it always has but something got changed and it just doesn't populate in the email without me manually selecting it each time. Help?

Hi beccacooks,

I understand that your signature is no longer auto-populating when you compose emails, even though the settings are correct. It is nice to have the signature load up automatically, so you don't have to worry about it. I'll be happy to help you with this.

The first thing that I would like to have you do is:

  1. Force Quit the Mail app
  2. Restart the iMac
  3. Hold the shift key down while you relaunch the Mail app
  4. Compose a test message and see if the signature line loads in automatically.
If it doesn't, then I'd like you to boot into safe mode and test this out there.

Use safe mode to isolate issues with your Mac

How to force an app to quit

Let me know how this goes. Have a great day!
