Can an iPhone 3GS Bluetooth tether an iPad Air 2?

As title. My POC Android phone failed, so now I'm having to use my old 3GS until I get a new contract iPhone in a month or so. Will I be able to tether this way? My phone sim has unlimited data/tether, but I don't know if Bluetooth will work!
