1080p on apple tv

I can't get the Apple TV to put out 1080p on downloaded movies like I tunes says

Thank you Phil0124 for your thorough reply. After reading your reply and researching the manual of the projector, I came to the same conclusion. The projector is only capable of 1080p when receiving signal from a DVI, component or RGB device.


Thank you very much for making it clear that the limitation of 1080p was coming from the projector and NOT the ATV.

The projector is a marantz vp12s4

If that model number is correct, then the projector cannot handle 1080p.

It maxes out at 1080i.


If the video source is a 1080p video, and the apple tv does not change this, then the projector will naturally default down to the highest progressive output it can handle, that being 720p. You cannot display progressive video as interlaced unless the conversion is done at the source like from your MPB.


You are in fact being limited by the projector.
