iphone 6 plus suddenly won't update or download apps

Check Settings > General > Restrictions > and make sure that the iTunes Store, Installing Apps, Deleting Apps, and In-App Purchases are all under the Allow section.

Since a forced restart did not help try a System Restore. First backup your device using iTunes. Also import your photos to your computer and copy all important data. Try restoring as New first and testing it. If it works then try restoring the backup and test it again. The backup could be corrupted. Here are the steps for a Restore:

If there are apps in the "NO UPDATES AVAILABLE" list, one or more of them might be blocking access to the App Store. I deleted one that was no longer available in the App Store and suddenly all was right again.

I have tried to do this, but when I tap 'applications', nothing happens. The screen is frozen after I tap 'applications', can't tap on anything else. The only thing I can do is hit the home button and go back again. Waited 5-10 minutes, still nothing happening. Any other ideas?

You're a genius. This is precisely what is causing apps not to update. I had a long list of apps that had no available updates for the new iOS 11.0.1 and therefore caused a block up. I only had to delete two of them for my needed updates to complete. Some of the apps where probably abandoned by the developer and would never "get fixed" for the new iOS updates. Might as well trash them now. Thanks.

Ok I am having the same problem, my mobile wasn't working for three days and I updated the software through iTunes as per the apple contact support information. Now I can't download any application. And when i do the steps you said, after about i can't find the word applications! I need a help..

Thank you so much for this advice. I was having this problem all day today, and I just deleted 3 apps that were no longer available in the App store, and immediately, my "stalled" apps began updating and downloading!

Does this issue affect all downloads? I receive an error when searching for software updates. I can’t even seem to download podcasts in addition to app/app updates. I was warned a system restore may not work and my phone could be bricked by Apple in the process. Is that a real concern?

How do you know if one of your apps is no longer available in the App Store? Do I have to search for every single one?!
