How can I reset Audio input defaults?

I have using a keyboard program to run my MIDI keyboards (Reason) for this computer. Whenever I turn the computer on, it defaults the Audio to its internal audio input, rather than the keyboard audio USB port. How can I set the Mac Mini to default the Audio setting to the USB keyboards?

Have you done this?

Open Audio Midi Setup in Applications>Utilities, see the input & output options & KHz setting there, some things will change it for their own use, then not set it back.
