Can't quit Whatsapp desktop fullscreen

Try Eric Root's suggestion.

Or push the cursor to the top of the screen, the menu should drop down, and the "View" menu should have Exit Full Screen

Also labeled as Control-Command-F

You should be able to push your cursor to the top of the screen and the menu bar should re-appear with the Green button to get you out of full screen

If that doesn't work, then maybe you can find the WhatsApp preferences and throw them away.

Finder -> Go -> Hold the Option key -> Library

That should open your Library folder.

Look for "Preferences"

Now look for the WhatsApp preferences file. Move it out of that folder, or delete it if you like. That should revert WhatsApp back to its default settings (including making you login again).

I couldn't find any preference file in the Libraries...

You should have found:

WhatsApp-Helper.plist

WhatsApp.plist

in the ~/Library/Preferences folder

Try Finder -> Go (menu) -> Go to Folder (menu item) -> ~/Library/Preferences (the first characters is tilde ~ )

Thank you Michael, I was lost also trying to shrink the screen back down and I am usually pretty savvy. The line commands at the top disappeared but of course they reappear when you move the cursor up to the top.

I've been having this problem for 2 weeks since maximising and I was about to re-install Whatsapp. I thought I had tried everything. Can't believe the fix was so simple in the end. Thanks for your solution!
