Table of Contents not working on pdf

Hi Mac Users,

I just recently updated my Mac to Sierra. I see that one of the updates was fixing a pdf issue where you people were having issues with ctrl+F things. Now my issue with the new update is that I'm not able to even use the Table of Contents for a short cut! So if I wanted to go to a chapter that's towards the end of the pdf file, table of contents would be a fast way, but nothing happens. It stays on the first page. I've tried this with my other pdf files, same thing. If any of you could give me some suggestions I'd really appreciated it. It's really annoying to have to scroll through by the trackpad. Thank you!

The newest version of Pages (6.0.5) fixes a TOC issue where clicking on an item in TOC did nothing. Now, it navigates to that location in the PDF file. The PDF file has to be created from Pages 6.0.5 for this to work.

If your PDF file was created in version 5 of Pages then it will not work like you want. You would need to open the actual Pages file in 6.0.5 then Export it to a PDF file. Then, your PDF file will have clickable links in TOC.

Thanks for the reply. Not sure how to convert/export to PDF using 6.0.5. What I did notice is that when I re-downloaded the PDF file, there are two versions and both have their own TOC within the same PDF file. One of the version you can't use TOC but in the other version, you can. In my original PDF I only see one version which is the one where you can't use TOC. So I'm not sure what happened to the second version within the same PDF file. I'll just go with the re-downloaded PDF. The downside is I'll lose all of my highlighted notes. Oh well.

When you have Pages 6.0.5 open with a document that has a TOC, you just click on File / Export and select PDF. This will create a PDF file of your Pages document.

To convert a document from an older version of Pages (e.g. 4.3) to 6.0.5, open that document from 6.0.5 then Save it.
