You need to remove it under Contacts. Go to yourself, and below the photo is an edit button. Then you can choose to delete the photo. For some reason that option doesn't appear when you are in the Apple ID section in Settings.

Actually, I found this only deletes it from your Contacts. It won't delete it from iCloud! Still trying to figure this one out!
I Have never heard of this. An Apple ID must be an email address. How did you attach a photo to your ID?
