Battery MacBook Air dies in 3 hours

Hi,

I've a MacBook Air 11" from mid 2012. It's a great computer over all, but the battery life is really bad lately. On a full charge, the battery can only last for like 3 hours of netflixing. Can somebody help me? What do I have to do?

outside of the battery depreciating due to age then depending on what the system is doing during that time is going to consume battery life and the 6 or 7 or 8 hours of battery life claimed by the manufacturer is strictly under ideal conditions. The age and the environment of the system will also come into play, if you are using devices drawing power from the battery this will also effect battery life, applications running in the background, the Wi-Fi signal and placement can even influence time of batter file.

for example. are you watching in netflix in HD?

thats at the very least 4x the amount of data that needs to be downloaded over wi-fi and processed.

while this is one possible scenario there are litterly an endless assortment of possibilities.
