mouse will not highlight/hold text

My Logitech Performance MX Mouse (which I have used with no problems for several years) now will not highlight or hold once highlighted text in almost any app. I have 1) turned the mouse power off/on 2) used the Logitech Utility App, 3) rebooted, 4) unplugged and replugged the USB wireless connector.

Suggestions?
