We've just upgraded to the latest version of FCP (10.3.2) and need to place a SAG logo and our company logo into the end credits of our film. What file types work best and what is the best way to accomplish this? It seems that FCP will only take jpg files but we are concerned that the resolution wont be high enough once it's shown on a movie screen. Can anyone help?

Any format that supports alpha, TIFF or PNG. Your graphics people should understand video resolution requirements.

Still-image formats
Use alpha channels
Alpha channels provide an easy way to composite one image over another. Using an application like Motion, an Apple application designed to work with Final Cut Pro, you can create still images and video clips that have alpha channels. Alpha channels can be thought of as having a built-in keyer—when you use the key effects you are creating a mask that is used in the same way a clip with an alpha channel is used for compositing.
