How do I remove a fake flash player malware?

I just accidentally installed the fake flash player. And now ads keep popping on my browser and lead to some pages to install other unwanted software. I tried uninstalling adobe flash player, and it doesn't work. Could anyone help me with this? I found many guides on the internet, but they are for windows.

I assume you have adware. Follow the instructions on this web page in order to manually remove adware from your mac: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT203987
