Download button gone from TV Shows episode list.

I buy TV Seasons SD in iTunes Store (for Windows). I download 3 or 4 episodes to my iPhone, then watch them by clicking download on each sequential episode. Then I'll come back and download a few more. Today on iTunes store all the episodes say Play not Download. Where did the Download button go? What happened? Running iTunes for Windows ver 12.5.5.5

Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities.

I see that you're missing the download button for some TV episodes. Are you using multiple devices? If so, I would check to see if Automatic Downloads is enabled in iTunes.

Please take a look at article: Turn on Automatic Downloads for iTunes Store, App Store, and iBooks Store purchases , specifically:

On your computer

In iTunes, you can turn on Automatic Downloads for iTunes Store purchases such as songs, albums, movies, TV shows, or apps for your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.

Open iTunes.

If you haven't authorized your computer, choose Store > Authorize This Computer.

Mac: From the menu bar at the top of your computer screen, choose iTunes > Preferences.
Windows: From the menu bar at the top of the iTunes window, choose Edit > Preferences.

Click the Downloads tab, then select the content that you want to automatically download.

Click OK.

I've got the same issue. Bought a new TV season and selected "Play Now" to watch the first episode. Ever since, all shows only give the "Play" button ... I can no longer download.

There doesn't seem to be any (obvious) way to fix this problem. I don't want to automatically download all episodes, I just want the ability to download the episodes I want ... i.e. return the Download button in place of the Play button.
