Photos App MacBook Pro - how to stop Dropbox?

I'm trying to import photos from my iPhone 5 into Photos App on my MacBook Pro (mid-2015, OS X 10.11.6) and keep getting message that Dropbox is full. I'm NOT using Dropbox for storing photos. I store them locally on my HD and in iCloud Photo Stream (the iPhone is too old to sync to new iCloud, but my new iPad photos sync without any problems). I connect the iPhone to the MBP using the USB cord and have been getting the Dropbox message every time - but now DB is truly full (and NO photos stored there). I now can't get the photos off my iPhone because of this.

I can't for the life of me find out how to "disconnect" Dropbox from Photos. Have done a web search, tried Apple FAQs, and Help in the Photos App.

Can anyone advise?

Thanks!

Thanks, LarryHN.

I've been using Dropbox since its inception with no issue. Since I got my new MBP in November, this has been an issue. I used Aperture on my previous MBP and now that Apple is no longer supporting/developing it, I'm moving to Lightroom. I want to use Photos for my devices synching, though. I have never connected Dropbox with any of my Apple products and since this is new behaviour with Photos, I think that Photos is somehow implicated.

Does anyone else know?

Again there is no connection or any sort between Dropbox and Photos - anything DropBox is doing is done by your use of DropBox and the setting you have set - Photos has no capability to interact with DropBox in any way no matter what you "think" - to resolve your problem you need to "think" different and contact DropBox support

Hi again LarryHN

Problem solved, I think. I clicked on the little gear after clicking on the Dropbox icon at the top of my screen. I chose not to sync photos (deselected the option - and oddly, it had NOT been doing that, as no photos had been uploaded to DB in the past). I now can see my iPod in Photos (which I couldn't before) and have now imported the photos. It's strange that I didn't have this problem before DB became completely full, but at least it's resolved now.
